Bible study was lead by Doranna this morning. We discussed God’s driving will on each of us. We shared opportunities that God willed for us to pray, intercede, and serve him. Jim and Gail Carlson arrived to pick up Adrina, who was going to study at their house while we worked on the site.
On the site, we mixed and shoveled concrete. We then poured the concrete into forms for the entry walls. It was quite a sight, and very hard work. Most of us were covered with concrete and dirt. Between sunburns, heat, and mosquito bites, we were in good shape! We cleaned all the concrete off the shovels and wheelbarrows, creating even more of a mess.
We played Names of God bingo with the kids. Everyone who got a bingo won a bouncy ball. The kids loved them. Can you imagine all the kids with their bouncy balls, all in the courtyard at once? It was a huge hit.
We hurried home from the orphanage to get ready for Wednesday night church service. We all wanted to eat and shower in just over an hour!!! After we were cleaned of concrete, Susy came with the van to pick us up. We drove across town, seeing for the first time more of the city. When we arrived at Nations Church, Juana gave Doranna and Chelsea a tour of the building. The worship, lead by Fernando, was AWESOME! After worship, we heard a word from Recie Saunders, teaching about dreams and the supernatural communication with the Lord. His stories were impacting and brought many in the church to tears.
It was a long day, and thank God for lights out!!!

Thursday, October 1st.
This morning started with Sue M. leading our daily bible study. She spoke on Isaiah 42-43 and the issues of blindness and deafness among God’s people. After this wonderful discussion, Jim and Gail came by. Jim went over the process of becoming a sponsor and showed us the kids that needed help. Our group decided to help four more kids and one missionary. (Steve - you’ll have to talk to Doranna about how many she decided to sponsor). After this, we all headed to downtown Puebla to shop and look around. We were joined by Molly and David, two more missionaries and supervisors for the kids. We all had a great time purchasing gifts for the kids and waiting for Steve and Sue to wrap up all of their new glassware.
We then headed to the orphanage and ate lunch. Once this was done we spent time with the kids playing, making quilt squares with finger paints and pens and eating lots of candy. The paints and popsicles were a huge hit!
After our time with the kids was up, we went back to our home and prepared dinner. We enjoyed hamburgers, fruit and veggies. Jerry and Suzy McNally, the founders of Esperanza Viva, came to the house tonight, answered numerous questions, and shared miraculous stories of God’s provision for the ministry.
Before lights out, we were getting our dirty laundry together when Steve came out with his dirty socks to add to the pile. When Sue told him to put them in the hall, he thru them over his shoulder right into Lissa’s face. Leading our team is a HUGE challenge.
Mosquitos: 72
EV Team: 23…and they are all smeared on the yellow walls!!
