River of God Blog & Pictures Day Three (Friday)

Today we climbed the big fearless mountain. Because of the rain this morning we chose the smaller mountain to climb so as we began our hike we walked, ran, jogged in a pretty good down pour. Everyone made it to the top! When we arrived at the top we looked out over the whole city and the clouds began to break and the rain stopped. It was a miraculous moment. We began to share analogies about our climb - things like when we started we couldn't even see the mountain because of the clouds and in life many times we can't see the next steps in front of us but we still need to persevere until we find victory or much of the terrain was not always solid ground and we had to always be watching for obstacles otherwise we would stumble. Another thing was just the fact that it began to rain and we could have chosen to not even climb at all but our hearts were determined and prepared for months in advance and so going despite the circumstances didn't even matter, the outcome was firmly planted in our hearts.

Today's mountain was our trial run. We are all preparing to climb the larger one on Monday, God willing. Today's mountain was around 7,000 feet about sea level. The one we are preparing for on Monday is around 13,000 feet so quite a bit higher...pray for us!

Molly Eckert said she was able to keep going up the mountain because she kept picturing her mom climbing it and it gave her strength. :) Not sure if that is a good or bad thing Kathy.

This afternoon we gave our bus driver a British name too...his name is Henry. His British accent was amazing.

At the end of our day #3 of Camp Impossible? a huge thunder storm came in and we had to quickly put everything away and prepare to go home. As we were waiting on the bus we saw a whole herd of sheep run into the orphanage, very funny moment.

Everyone is being stretched in new ways everyday. The encouragement going around to each and every person is amazing to watch. I'm very proud to be a part of each and everyone of these peoples lives and students...The staff and supervisors have been so amazing and helpful in everything we do and need. Having them makes each day go so smooth.

Tomorrow we will be having our youth service at Naciones...pray for the service and our drama that God would move powerfully in our lives and in the lives of the students we are ministering to.

Much love,
Blessings,
Andrea
