Word of Grace Day Two (Monday)

Word of Grace and the love of God are being represented well! The entire team here has pulled together in ways that will never be forgotten. It was wonderful for me to hear Rodrigo's appreciation for the way our team worked so well together with such a unified spirit. Our theme of "Fingerprints of God" seem to have resonated the kids and the team alike. I am so glad we brought Sierra and Kaley! The youngest on the team by far have been robbed of a whole lot of sleep but are thoroughly enjoying their time. We hope this trip will instill a lifetime of memories and perspective. Today they had a blast with Augustine, a twelve year old boy who was high in the avocado and pomegranate trees dropping fruits to our girl's delight. Evelyn, the 2 year old youngest resident of the center has received much attention and words cannot express the tender beauty of such a gem of God. Where she and the others would be, without Esperanza Viva is a solemn reminder of the importance of this ministry. Esperanza Viva combined with Nations Church, the ministry school and the other ministries has demonstrated to me that this is a vision worth backing with every bit of passion we can muster. God bless you all and continue to pray.

Today after our work project we gathered the kids for our afternoon of activities. Our theme for the week is surrounding the "Fingerprints of God" which we sang for the kids to kick off our activity time. We then shared our daily theme, "God made you just the way you are," and read from Psalm 139:13-14. After that we divided the kids into two groups where we did some craft activities. The kids really got into this! One of our crafts was making sock puppets - I got to work with Evelyn, the youngest child in the orphanage. She's adorable! We're all trying to figure out a way to take her home with us! :o)

Looking forward to a great week teaching the kids how special and loved they are in God's sight!

Things are going very well. We are helping around the orphanage and having fun with some of the kids. I whip out the pictures that Angel slipped in my bag. Angel, I love you and tell Judah that he is a good little man. Kiss Belah's little stinky baby toes for me. I am feeling great and I will be home safe and sound in a few days.
Love, Ben (da-da)

The worship service at church yesterday was astounding. The people were truly making a joyful noise unto the Lord. It was wonderful to praise the Lord in another language.
