Northbrook Visitors (Friday)

Mark's thoughts from Thursday:
Thursday morning started out like our other mornings. Rising early, breakfast and devotions. Jim Carlson came early to give a partnership/presentation talk. Several of the children plus staff still needed sponsors. Some of us were new to this and even though no commitments were made, a lot of thought and prayers were involved.

We then took a quick trip to see the land that was purchased. A well was dug, some sidewalks poured and placements for walls were being made.

Lunch was tasty and consisted of lentil soup, rice (of course) and french fries with bread and tortillas. We even had pastry for dessert.

After lunch we had a painting activity with the boys ages 6-10. This went over quite well, with the chaos being limited. Anytime you do something with an age group, others want to be involved.

For dinner we had our girls that we sponsored over for dinner. Art and Maria sponsor Graciela, Fatima and Selena. I sponsor Maria and Mirella. We had lasagna, salad, bread and fruit salad. Being able to have separate time with our children is really a blessing. But then, the week overall has been a blessing to so many.

Tonight (Friday) there was the Despedida (Farewell) for the group. We had a special time of a bonfire. Here are a few pictures.
