First Congregational Church

Tuesday, June 1:
Today we woke up and went to the land to work. Juana met us at the land to get us started on our project. Imir (a young boy working at the land who will be starting the school program next year) helped us to classify the wood in the bodega into piles to make it easier for the workers. When we finished this project, Enoch had us work on the pear trees. We dug trenches around the trees to help with irrigation when it rains. The pear trees are currently on the area where the future church will be.
We returned to the orphanage for lunch with the children and activities. This afternoon we are working with the boys and girls ages 12 and under. Our first project is to make fish out of construction paper and put neon colored scales on them using stickers. There was a story to go along with the craft project and Juana read the story to the children. We also brought the jump ropes and sidewalk chalk again because it was such a hit yesterday. Our group brought soccer balls to play soccer and kickball with the children.
