Kettle Brook Church Day Five (Saturday)

Thoughts from yesterday:
Hey everyone! It's Kristine - my turn to write the blog today.

Hope all is well with everyone back home and God's blessings to all who read this.

Today was a truly blessed day! We began with breakfast and devotions. Luke and James led devotions today and their questions paved the way for some thought-provoking and insightful discussions. They led with Ecclesiastes 7:1-11.

After devotions, Jim Carlson spoke with our group briefly about partnership options and the mission that drives Esperanza Viva and its affiliated partners.

It was then off to the building site of the new orphanage for all member of the group except Kristie and James.

At the building site, the group continued to transport ground across the ten acre plot of land from the wall at the back of the property to the entryway at the front. Our group was accompanied by La Viña students and it was our pleasure and honor to work with them side by side. They are a wonderful group and their love of Christ is pure and contagious to us. A member of La Viña shared an inspirational testimony with the group and encouraged us all!

James accompanied me to the dental clinic where the two of us, along with Jim Carlson, took inventory and attempted to get the clinic up and running. Several diligent staff members made multiple trips to the pharmacy to locate developer and after that the x-rays were ready to go! Thank you to all for you help today!

The afternoon was spent with the children. We used beads to create bracelets, rings, necklaces and even maracas. Alexa, Anna, Sue and Kim spent almost the entire afternoon beading.

Mark, Jim, Luke, and James spent the afternoon playing basketball with the kids and I believe even beading periodically as well.

Around dinner time we returned to our home and discussed the challenges of the day as well as the blessings and the ways we saw God working today. Have a blessed evening and we'll talk with you again tomorrow.

Kristie
