¡Hola¡ This is Lissa…Yesterday we went to the land for the first time! This is the land that Esperanza Viva purchased to build The Living Hope Community for the children. They have started bringing services to the land including the first well. The project we are helping with is to move dirt and create forms for new concrete that is being poured on either side of the curbs to add support for the prefabricated concrete front wall panels which will be delivered soon. We all had our share of shovel time yesterday and Steve did most of the tamping, so he was the first in the shower and the first to bed. The sand arrived as we were leaving, so today we will get to learn about mixing concrete! We walked all the way from front to back of the land and it is big – 11 acres! There will be room for lots of kids in the new dorm which they will start constructing this fall.
In the afternoon we introduced the Names of God to the children by playing a Bingo game. This is the overarching theme of our lessons, and we are relating all our other lessons to it. The kids had a great time playing and the prizes were bouncy balls. The kids that won first got to pick first and had varied ways of testing the bounce to pick their favorite!
Once a week the staff at EV have worship together called CIA. Yesterday they had it at the guest house. There were more than 40 people in our little house with the worship team, and the worship was RICH, as always. Recie Saunders shared a little about himself and then his vision for Puebla City…it was exciting news. He told about a vision he had about a deep well underneath the EV land and it was both physical and symbolic. It was a great time of worship! We are looking forward to more worship and teaching tonight at Wednesday night service.
