Kettlebrook Youth Team Day One (Saturday)

With much anxiety our van pulled into the orphanage.  As we stepped out, tiny faces peered around corners.  One of the staff members, Juana (whose inspiring testimony we had the privilege to hear earlier that morning), took us on the grand tour.  Each dorm brought more excitement as the children hid underneath their beds rolling marbles out.  Throughout the day, the team blew bubbles with the little ones.  Then, over lunch, Antoño and Luis squirted water guns directly at us.  Some of the team members played basketball or soccer while others played tag.  Lupita and Blanca taught the group how to Salsa.  Lost in translation, Jorge taught a couple of team members how to play the board game, Rummy.  Overall, our anxieties are continuously being washed away and we are creating relationships that will keep growing throughout the week and hopefully longer.

A New Hair-do.
