Word of Grace (Friday)

Blog writings from Thursday:
We were greeted this morning with firework explosions at 5:00am.  Wally's hot cakes were a hit at breakfast.
Our work motto today at the land was Community of Hope - Been There, Dug That!  We finished digging the trench to the road while Mike and Trention finished chiseling their eight holes through the bathroom concrete walls.  Lynette finished the rest of the hair cuts today.  They have been very fun for all the kids.
Once again we entered the orphanage after working, all sweaty, tired, certainly feeling our abbreviated night of sleep, to be greeted with joy and energetic smiles.  Our deepening relationships with the kids continue to be the daily highlight.  Today we tied our activities to "fixing our eyes on Jesus" and the kids had fun decorating masks.  We then played a bit of Bingo with prizes for all the kids.  It was a blast.  It was so cool seeing freshly cut and styled hairdos everywhere.  Another amazing time with our little brothers and sisters in Christ.  ~Sandra and Dave

Wow!  Another amazing day filled with God's grace.  We've been so blessed with really beautiful weather.  Today Mt. Popo was visable clear to the top.  What an awesome view to have in the backfround while we finished the trench, and that we did.  We had another great day with the kids.  It's so wonderful to be able to truly feel God's presence around us and to witness his healing power.  I feel so blessed and encouraged to be surrounded by such loving, God focused people.  From staff to the kids to our own group, everyone with the same goal to serve the Lord.   ~Dawn
Please pray for us as we travel home as several are not feeling the best.

Blog from today (Friday):
Today was a bitter sweet day for us.  We are happy to be seeing our family tomorrow and we are sad to be leaving our "new" family members.  It has been emotional for many of us.
The children blessed us with a wonderful dance and time of prayer.
Hands down our favorite time has been playing with the children.  (Cards, bubbles, bracelet making, soccer, playing cars, etc.)
We have been blessed with wonderful weather.  It began raining tonight after we arrived at the guest house.
The Despedida (the farewell program)
This is a game they were playing.  The had to step into the elastic band and pull it up over their heads then pass it to the next person in line.  The first group to finish won the game.
The kids did a dance for the team.
The kids prayed for the team.
