It´s has been a whirlwind of events since we arrived at Esperanza Viva in a pouring rainstorm. Saturday night we settled into our comfortable dormitories and crashed after a long travel day.
Sunday. We were shipped at Nations Church – a moving experience – particularly when many of the kids performed a song and dance in traditional Mexican garb. After church, we went to Cholula for lunch and tour of the pyramids and the church of “Remedios” then back to EV for dinner and kid time.
Monday. We took a tour of the orphanage. God is really moving here, they have constructed these major building in these years. Monday afternoon we played sports and crafted with the kids.
Tuesday – Thursday. We have been building a retaining wall along the drive way. We´re digging trenches, hauling dirt and gravel, laying the bricks and landscaping around the week. Late afternoons are spent playing and crafting with the kids. It has been inspiring seeing how joyful and playful they are. We love these kids!
Tuesday night we had a special time of worship with the staff and they prayed over us. Later that night, Jerry & Susie met with us and told us about the awesome thing God has done here. Some nights we even Zumba with the older girls.
God is speaking to all of us through the kids, the staff, the surroundings, the worship and our daily devotional time. He is good and we can´t wait to tell you all the way He is moving in our lives here.
