New Life Comnunity Church 2013.

I hope you´ve all had a great week! I asked the lord to help me remember Spanish so could talk about Jesus with the kids yesterday; I got to talk to a girl who had come to the home recently and accepted Jesus as her savior after hearing about his love for her. Here she could see how much God Loved her when before she came her dad couldn´t take care of her. Here she was so thankful to have clothes shoes and food to eat. She is happy here, it reminds me to be so thankful of how God has taken care of us.
I have been helping cook, wash dishes, leading songs, helping with activities and playing with the kids. They love the songs, games and activities. It is kind of like VBS. I know you´d all love it here. It is like having a huge family. I miss you all. See you on Saturday or Sunday.

Hello everyone back home! What a blessed week we´ve been having. I am part of a great team. We are working on a retaining wall which was begun by some in our group last year. The afternoons we spend with the children we are in constant motion! We have made cotton sheep, decorated canvas bags, played sheet volley ball, scavenger hunt many more activities, songs skits.
Each and every child here is a beautiful gift from God. The staff and young adult dorm supervisors are incredible.
We can´t wait to see what the rent of the week brings!
Love to you all…
Erika
Dear mommy daddy, 06 June 2013
You´ll be happy to know that things have been going well. The kids have grown up so fast its crazy! We´ve been working on the “wall” as our work project.
Not much has changed with my volleyball skills, but I played yesterday and we won. I like to think I had a big part in that. Our VBS have been going we´ll and I’ve been having a great time spending time with the little boys. Lunches have been fantastic. Love joking ground with the little boys. Overall, God is doing amazing stuff down here, His presence is very strong, and I am as red as a tomato. Haha…
Love you and adios.
Jessica.

New Life Community Church Team

Wednesday June the 5th.
The lord is good! Our first few days with the kids during activities and games have been a blast. You can tell they really have been enjoying them especially the volley ball sheet game, and oh my do they live to sing! They really do get into it even the supervisors are really showing a lot of enthusiasm which is great to see, so thank the Lord for blessing us as we sing to him each day.
The work project began with a good amount of effort from the team all around. It is good to se that they all do what is asked without complaint and even enjoy it. Digging a long trench can be a tiny bit exhausting but that won´t stop us. We are in the makings of building a retaining wall and by golly it will get done, probably with the help   of a few other teams though.
Honestly I am just so thankful that the Lord has taken such wonderful care of us, and has been present to lead this team into what he has for us. I am expecting great things and earnestly desire that God would do this for us and we would glorify him for what he does here. In this I ask for continued prayer for us as a team and for Living Hope for God uses us all and I.
I know he will use the people here to do great things for his kingdom, which I hope to see or at least hear about.
I want to thank everyone back home or wherever you are for supporting us as a team. I know that we need you just as Christ said we would be unified in His purpose we would not be able to do this apart from God and His people being willing to do and be who he has called them to, so thanks again and praise the Lord for all He has done.
Love in Christ,
Jonathan Frisch.

New Life Community Church Team

Day 2
What a busy exciting day. All of the activities that we had planned were a big hit. We started our time with the kids singing a song in English and then in Spanish. We messed up a little during the Spanish part but the kids were having fun and did not care. Kids also got to decorate canvas bags I am always amazed at how artistic the children are, even the boys. As we were finishing up that activity, we played a game that involved asking questions and eating M&M´s all of the kids wanted to play when they heard we were using chocolate. Needless to say the kids loved it. Our last official activities for the day was large game of volleyball however, every player had partner and they had to use a towel sized sheet to fling the ball over the net. This was great because it got the adults and kids involved. Everyone had a blast.
I cannot believe how normally feels here. It certainly does not feel like we have not seen the kids in a year. I can´t wait to see what God has in store for this week.

Monday, June 3
It is so good to be back here! We got to E.V. around 5pm on Saturday. This is my first time staying in the visitor´s dorms, which is awesome because we are on campus with the kids at all times. The kids remembered me! As soon as we were done eating and finished our welcome orientation we walked over to the basketball courts where I was greeted by name by many of the kids. Very soon after we started a game of volleyball. We had so much fun catching up with Keti chiring supper! She told us some of her “La ViƱa” stories. There are four men from Wisconsin who are leaving today, and so after supper the kids had their farewell. Oscar and Itzel and some of the other kids their age performed a dance in costume. It was a huge bonfire in the middle of the basketball courts. I played volleyball with the older kids until it got too dark to play and then I went and joined Julia by the fire. We were surrounded by many of the kids as we were asking questions back and forth in Spanish; it was so much fun to laugh with them at our mistakes and our answers. We are having so much fun already; this will be a great week! Estephanie.
