Woodland Hills

8-24-13

My life has been touched this week from the children, staff and our mission’s team. Today we listened to Jerry and Suzy (founders of E.V) it really opened up my eyes, mind and heart of just how amazing God works in and through us, if we let him guide us.

I couldn´t have asked for a better group of people to came down and work and grow together in God´s kingdom.

The time with the children and staff has impacted the way I view love.

They are a great example of God´s love and it is expressed very clearly here.

I ask for prayer as we return home to bring back what we have learned and stay centered spiritually, help guide us where God would like us to be within his kingdom.

Trip into Puebla was a lot of fun we shopped and ate at a restaurant, on the way back, bus broke down. We made it to AutoZone. It was the battery. After we were ready to go back, we stop at Burger King´s drive thru for 20 ice cream cones. We were studded in the drive thru for a bit. Hilarious.

Working on the retaining wall with teenagers was a great time to get to know them. The crafts were a hit. The kids enjoy the fuse beads friendship bracelets and several of the other craft. It was so enjoyable to watch and help them make their projects.

Retaining walls aren´t so easy to build. Cashing was a lot of fun. Watching the kids work as a team to find the treasures. The kids all received nose whistle as the prize.
Funniest thing ever.

It´s so touching to be able to see the love of God within EV. We played volleyball with the kids. I love their laughs and smiles, even though I don´t speak Spanish, I still feel like I’m connecting with the children. There is such a positive energy here. Which I feel is helping me to open up to mu spiritual journey with God.

Today was a slower day at Esperanza viva. We had a tour of the grounds, time to prepare our activities for the week and learned about all the sponsor opportunities. Many of us are already sponsoring a child but there are so many need, and never enough funds.
The afternoon and evening we played and ate dinner with the kids. They are so cute! We played board games, cards and even did a Zumba class with the ladies!
Looking forward to tomorrow.

We arrived safely, so excited for the great things God has in store for our team this week. Our group was impacted by the Nations Church in several different ways. The worship was amazing; you could feel the presence of God within the church.
Playing games with the kids has started helping us connect with them, I look forward for tomorrow.
I miss everyone back home.

Yesterday was our first full day here in Puebla. We headed into town and went to Nations Church with Jerry McNally giving the service. It was all in Spanish, but the music was beautiful and many of us were moved to tears. They had an interpreter for us during the service, a memory to treasure.
Later that day, we went to Cholula Pyramids and Cathedral. We got caught in a huge down pour right at the top! Soaking, wet and many laughs as we huddled under one street vendor tent. The water was up to the doors as we drove home.
We ended our day singing worship songs, sharing our day and prayer.
