United Methodist Church Day One (Wednesday)

Hello family and friends,
We have arrived in Mexico! Last night we twisted and turned into the Puebla airport – we were greeted by Rene. Kate and Juana (our fearless leader) were waiting back at our house for us.
This morning we gathered all 30 pounds of greeting cards and all the underwear spread throughout the suitcases. It was all taken to the kids today! We spent the rest of the morning reading, scheming, relaxing, and playing cards.
Juana gave us a brief orientation (lesson learned – no block parties for us!). We then toured Esperanza Viva and had lunch with the children. Tears were flowing as everyone reached for water after the first bite. Let’s just say it was a little spicy!
This afternoon Barbara did a great job telling a story to two groups of kids and had them act it out. Afterwards we made crafts. Pastor Eric and Luke were schooled in some soccer and basketball…
Tonight we went to Nations Church to worship with some of the kids, staff, and town folks.

Until next time – God bless!

P.S. Watch out! Pastor Eric is getting big ideas…after seeing people blow fire at stop lights for money, he is thinking we may have found a new hobby…
