This blog entry is for Saturday June 26th and Sunday June 27th. Yesterday we started the day with a devotional on kindness and talking about the various ways God shows us His everlasting kindness. Then, everybody was so excited to go spend free time with the kids. We hung out with them, sung songs, made balloon animals, face painted, and played games. Everyone had a great time and there were lots of smiles all around. Many of the kids wrote messages and cards for the kids which kept Lissa busy translating for 3 hours!
After lunch some of the smiles turned to tears as we had to say goodbye to the younger boys and girls when we left the home to go to Naciones church for the youth service. The service was awesome. It was an evangelistic outreach service to the neighborhood. It started with a drama and then there was a concert by a guy from Chile named Numero 7. He rapped and everybody danced and worshipped. Then our team sang 3 worship songs. First we sang Your Love in English, then Mighty to Save in Spanish and everyone sang along. Our last song was I Could Sing of Your Love Forever and we did sign language with it. We taught the audience the chorus and they signed along with us and even on the bus ride home. The last act was the worship group of the youth and they played some awesome songs and everybody was jumping up and down and praising God.
On the way home we sang songs and said goodbye to everybody. Everyone was sad that we had to say goodbye. Then the Carlsons came by and spent time with us. Everybody got wound up and had a hard time going to bed but we had some great team togetherness time!
