Busy day...we woke up around 7:30. (I let them all sleep in.) Prepared and ate breakfast at 8:00. I think some had their first taste of cultural experiences when we had warm milk from a cardboard carton this morning with our cereal. But everyone is doing so well...even better than expected, no tears thus far, :o)
Then it was off to prepare for the day. Anna gave devotions (Psalm 27:1-3) and talked about living every moment with God and stepping out to be a History Maker. We spent time reading our Bibles and praying for an hour, listening to the things God was speaking to us.
After prayer we began our prep for the day...team work is a huge key to this trip and everyone is working so well with each other. Around 1:00 we were picked up in our little bus and then off to Esperanza Viva.
We toured the orphanage...many things have changed from our time here last year. Offices have moved locations, kids are living in some different room. They are excited to move into the new dorms which are to be completed around January.
For lunch we ate with the high school students and had rice, broccoli and potatoes to eat.
After lunch a little boy caught a lizard and terrorized our group by showing the girls. :o) So they found two more little ones and thought is was so funny to make them scream...the orphanage kids are having so much fun.
As Joe and Anna were doing crafts they couldn't find the markers after working on a few projects...then they saw a couple of kids with smirks on their faces filled to the brim with markers falling out of their pockets...silly kids.
Many of our team members were very excited to meet their sponsored kids and the kids they've been praying for over the last number of weeks.
Megan was covered in dirt by the end of our skit and the kids thought it was so funny! Everyone is learning much Spanish and excited for the activities for the rest of the week.
Tonight we are going to a worship service and then to bed early for us.
Thanks you for all your prayers,
Andrea & Team
