Kettle Brook Church Day Three (Thursday)

Okay, so Esperanza Viva means Living Hope and we know why! The children here have a wonderful safe and loving place to grow up. We’re all feeling bad that we don’t know more Spanish. But actually a few prefer to speak English. They’re really smart. They’re really cute. They love playing basketball, soccer, coloring, and many have canicas (marbles). We are amazed to see how much joy they have and how quickly we can make friends with them. We can see “Living Hope" in their eyes and we see so much of God and His love here.

Last night we visited Nations Church and were moved by the wonderfully symbolic murals on many of the walls, the reverence and joy in singing, and the message about Gideon and how God’s plan and activity is so much more grand than we imagine. Reflecting on how this applies to our lives, how this applies to the lives at Esperanza Viva, and how this applies to our world today gives us a lot to think about…
