Saturday, May 29:
We all arrived safely in Mexico City.  After an interesting adventure with Customs, Juana guided us to Puebla.  We had a short tour of the Orphanage and made our way to the house.  The starter on the van broke, but we eventually arrived at our house.  We had a nice dinner together and went to bed early after a long day of traveling.  We are all very humbled to be here and excitedly await the adventure ahead.

Sunday, May 30:This morning we woke up and had a nice breakfast ourside as a group. We cleaned up and made our way to Nations Church for the service. The building is covered with murals that send a wonderful message. Our group truly enjoyed the service. It began with worship music that was very moving. When the children from the orphanage arrived, they were dancing and singing along with the praise and worship music. Pastor Jerry spoke to the congregation and Mary translated his words for our group. His message was beautiful. He spoke strongly about keeping God in our lives and the lives of our children. He preached about the importance of church and family and this message touched us all.
After lunch we went to Cholula with Molly and Rodrigo.  We were able  to see an authentic Mexican religious ritual outside the pyramids.  Our group climbed to the summit of the ruins and took in the glorious  views.  On our climb, Deb was brave enough to eat a fried cricket!  Once we reached the top, we were able to take in the beauty God has created to include the mountains and a volcano.  Molly and Rodrigo helped us shop.  We felt like Kingergarteners needing help counting our pesos!
Upon returning to the house, we made dinner and planned our activities for the week for the children.  Our group brought many gifts and crafts for the children and we can't wait to bless the children this week!  Before bed, we walked down the street to La Michoacana for ice cream.  We all thought it was delicious, although Bruce found crunchy pieces in his ice cream that he thinks may have been bugs!  The jury isn't out on their identity.  They were probably just nuts.
