East Hill Youth Team (Thursday)

Blog from Wednesday:
HOLA
Today is June 23, 2010. Today was a great day. We started off with a normal breakfast of cereal and fruit made by Shan’s wonderful group. After breakfast Brandon shared a story he wrote for our devotionals. He almost brought us all to tears. After wiping the tears from our eyes, we welcomed Jim and Gail for a sponsorship talk. Looking at the pictures of the kids and hearing about their stories touched all of our hearts. We think that most of the team will start to sponsor a child. After a morning full of heartwarming things we went to the work site. We all went to the same places as the day before. It was amazing how much we got done. Tomorrow we won’t have much left to do. Working hard in the sun took a toll on our bodies but we all couldn’t wait to go see the kids. When we got to the youth home the kids were just as excited as we were. After changing at the home, the team got together with the children to eat lunch, after the delicious lunch, activities and volleyball soon started! The kids made a wonderful mess with paints. It was so cute to see them having all that fun! Our time together went by way too fast because we had to go home to change for church. We got home and had to rush to have dinner and get all cute for church. Thanks to Adrina’s group (minus Adrina, Add Emily) dinner was quite tasty. We had a fun and bumpy ride to church singing worship songs with Juana the whole way there. The worshiping didn’t stop when we got to church though because we all went up front and sang our hearts out to God. We got to go into our special back room to get another translated message. It’s amazing seeing someone translate as fast as she had to. What the people had to say in the message was what we all needed to hear. After the service ended we got a chance to buy some pretty awesome T-shirts. Then we went home and were a little too loud on the bus. Once we got to our great home we had some free time to just chill and do what we wanted.

Time for bed and adios
