First Congregational Church Day Four (Wednesday)

From Tuesday, June 1:
After Juana and the Seven Dwarfs finished working, we had lunch at the orphanage with the children.  We had a lot of activities planned today.  First the children sang "Whole World in His Hands" led by Molly and Juana.  Next Juana read a fish book with a message about sharing.  Then the children made fish out of contruction paper and placed neon colored stickers for decorations.  Some kids used the stickers to decorate their faces.  After we were done with the crafts we played with frisbees.  Jean caught her first frisbee from a perfect throw by Mario!  These kids truly are gifts from God and our lives are better for knowing them.
After activity time with the children, the Esperanza Viva staff came to the house for a prayer meeting.  Fernando and Josh blessed us with their wonderful gift of music.  The staff prayed for us and it touched our hearts deeply.  Many of us were moved to tears.  God's presence was felt by all.  Our group feels very blessed to have each of the staff members in our lives.  It was wonderful getting to know each and every one of them.
We had a nutritious dinner of tortilla chips and ice cream (by choice).  Juana and Clamencia came to the house for devotions.  Clamencia spoke to us about how God has given us each a special tool.  She talked about the importance of being constant in our prayer and relationship with God because with Him all things are possible.  Clamencia is a very special young woman who is using her tool from God.  She has truly found her calling and we thank her for her time with us.

Wednesday, June 2:
Juana and the Seven Dwarfs headed back to the land to finish digging trenches around the pear trees.  Bill, Jean and Meagan also helped Jose and the other men mix cement from scratch.  We made quite a mess.  The cement was used for a pillar in the guest bathroom.  Tomorrow we will all be making cement.
After lunch we had activity time with the 11-14 year old girls.  First they each got to decorate their own neon colored flip-flops with gems and jewels.  Then they each got a bag with a manicure set containing nail polish, lotion, a nail file and cotton balls.  The girls decorated their bags with glitter markers.  Next we put down a large sheet of white paper and gave the girls paint.  They painted an amazing mural.  These girls are very talented and have been blessed by God with artistic ability.  The girls want us to take the mural back to our church.  This beautiful work of art will soon be hanging in First Congregational Church.
Tonight we are blessed to have another worship service at Nations Church.  Fernando and the band are going to bless us again with their music.
