First Congregational Church Day Six (Friday)

Having the older girls over last night was a lot of fun.  The girls were smiling and giggling from the moment they left.  When they found out they each got to pick pattern for their blanket, they quickly raced inside.  The girls really seemed to enjoy their activity.  It was a pleasure getting to know this group of young women.  They are blessed with many talents and they are so sweet.

This morning our group went to downtown Puebla for shopping and lunch. Susie and Maria were our tour guides. We walked through the market and bought some souvenirs for ourselves and our loved ones. We went to Taquiero Los Angeles for an authentic Mexican lunch. It was delicious!

This afternoon we had our last time to play with the children. We brought soccer balls, baseball bats and balls, books, checkers, footballs, jump ropes and more. We savored each of the last few moments we had to play with the beautiful and wonderful children. After playing, the children put on a very special farewell for us. The kids danced for us and said their thanks through beautiful words. Then all the children surrounded us while Juana said one last prayer for us. These children are a blessing and a gift from God. Each of our lives have been touched by this experience. The children and staff will always be in our hearts and prayers.
