We can't believe we have already been here four days. the days go something like this: People get up between 6-7, we have breakfast & team devotions & prayer from 8-9. The van comes & picks us up at 9.30am & We drive 30 minutes through the streets of Puebla to tehe Western edge of town where the new porperty sits. One dormitory is built along with a utility building they use as a warehouse now.
We work on the property 31/2 hours. Day 2 we moved sand & dirt with wheel barrows $ heavy paving stones to the area it would be needed. Yesterday we planted 50 trees along the fenceline, lots of digging, weeding and patting down dirt. Hopefully in 20 years some of the kids can bring their children to show them the trees they planted!
At 1:30 the van picks us up and takes us to the orphanage where we have lunch and engage the kids for the afternoon , it is mostly unstructured play time: soccer, basketball, drawing, crafts, etc... every day we usually have one big activity to engage the kids.
4:30 the bus/van takes us back to the house, which is only about 2 miles from the orphanage. We crash, while whomever is on dinner duty prepares the meal.
Big news: last night we served the entire E.V. staff a dinner of burgers & fries 50 people! the entire Schaefer family was amazing in the kitchen (Holly, Conrad and Tonya) while Jim Neuberg and Danny Schutts kept thye Tang supplied. The E.V. staff doesn´t get to many opportunities to be together so we pray it was a blessing for them.
Pray for Anna Neuberh and Nathan Krueger who are both sick in bed with 102° temps. Pray for recovery and that it would not spread to the rest of the team.
