On Saturday Jessica was super excited to see me again as i was to see her. She always gets this absolutely brilliant sunshine smile when she see me, and it makes my heart skip a beat. Today at lunch her aunt came to visit and brought pizza.
After they were done eating Jessica brought me a piece. It was really good. It had cherries and pineapple and ham on it. I can already tell that when I leave my heart will not be boarding the same flight as me it will wait a few weeks before finally deciding to board a plane and head home to me. I haven´t had any showers in my socks… yet.
The team is super awesome; I love each and every one of them so much. Thanks for all the prayers and support =)

Today we went to Esperanza Viva´s church called the Nations Church in Puebla. Jerry McNally gave the message; he is the founder of Esperanza Viva (Living Hope) the children at LHI also were there. He spoke on Acts 13. Do we want to be used by God? He said to let God speak to us and to fix our gaze on God see how we can help others even when it´s not convenient. There is nothing we can´t do God is our source and strength. There is no end to the power of God! It surely is evident here!
The children are amazing! Yesterday was our 1st full day here. We spent the morning at the orphanage (Living Hope) I was scanning the area looking for Yazmin (our sponsored child) I haven´t met her yet only thru pictures. I was standing outside the building and thru the glass doors I seen her coming down the stairs. Dour eyes locked in recognition. She came out and we hugged and I told her I was Keti´s mama, it was special to finally meet her. She speaks a little English and with Keti´s help we were able to talk. We eat lunch every day with the kids. The weather is great 65° sunny and rainy at night. Love to you all- Dan I miss you- thank you everyone for your prayers and financial support so we could be here- Gracias!

I would like to start out by thanking everyone who helped make this trip possible by donating to our team members’ trip, by attending a fundraiser we had and for all of you who are praying for us. We truly appreciate your efforts!
This is only Sunday and it is already amazing to me how much impact the kids of Esperanza Viva have had on our team members, including me. It never gets old. Seeing the ruins of Cholula for the fourth wasn´t all that interesting anymore, but watching the individual team members play and interact with the kids and teens (even with the language barrier) it just warms my heart and fills me with joy. It´s what makes the trials of “leading” 22 people of varying personalities and backgrounds totally worth it.
I am expected for the coming week. God is going to do truly amazing things in and though so many of us this week, I just can´t wait to see it all unfold =)

I have often told team members to prepare their story. To be ready to answer when someone asks about the hope or joy they have. To prepare their testimony, for you never know when an opportunity to share will occur: on the bus ride from youth church, Saturday night, Alissa and I were talking and visiting with 2 teens, 17 and 18 years old. After a pause in our conversation, one girl again turned around and asked point blank “why do you like Mexico?” I paused and saw this as an opportunity to share my thoughts in my broken Spanish I told her “I don´t like Mexico… I do like you… and I like to see God working in their lives” this clearly made her pause and ponder my answer. She understood. I pray she believes me and I pray it has an eternal impact. Thanks God for opportunities to sow into the lives of these kids. Thank you even more for the work you are doing in the lives of these amazing kids.

Day 3 and so far so good. Team is still healthy and safe. 22 is a big team. It can be a touch overwhelming. However the friendships being forget and the unique personalities and spiritual maturity levels are a wonderful blend. Please pray for the teams continued open and broken heartedness for the things of God. It is truly a privilege and an honor to lead this team to a greater understanding of God, his creation and their roles in changing lives for God. We cherish your prayers and the support so many of you have already given to this team.
