So far we are on day 5 of all our 11 day missions trip. The first four days were used to interact with the children and get to know this new culture around us. Today we began the real work by digging a trench on one side of the court yard which we will eventually be filling with cement to create a curb. Other team members are making storage units to be used in the dormitory.
We all also noticed great excitement when we had a craft activity with the girls 16 and older. They were able to make their own necklaces and add their own style to it. More and more girls are wearing them each day with smiles all around. These older girls were so excited that we took the time to interact with them. The best thing we can give them is our time.
The last thing I would like to leave you with is how amazing these children/young adults are. Their past experiences would leave most buried, but with these children you wouldn´t even be able to tell of their rough lives that they have lived. They are always smiling and having a good time. Their love for God after everything they´ve been through is truly one all should be able to witness. They are a great example of how we should let go and let God (Psalm 46:10)

Wow! What breath taking views all around us. Each morning we wake up to beautiful views of the mountains and volcano which tower over Esperanza Viva! It´s as if God is standing watch over his children.
Each day we are so eager to be able to get to know the children more. Yesterday was so special to be able to attend the church service that Josh McNally spoke at. What an awesome message that we elaborated on latter Sunday evening for devotion time. Our subject for devotion was “what do I want?” our answers were all very similar… to draw nearer to God. Sunday we also played soccer with many of the children… wow, that was fun. We were all laughing so hard, and had such a great time, even if we were sore afterwards.
I think my favorite part of being here so far is seeing the smiles on all the kids faces!!! You can definitely feel God´s presence all around us here! The care that these children receive here, go above all beyond anything you can comprehend unless you witness it firsthand. These children appreciate everything that they receive.
The staff here is doing God´s work without expecting anything in return except God’s Grace! That is truly living for God! More people need to come here and see what it means to be a servant of God!
