Woodland Hills

Day 2 in Mexico was beyond words! Since they only do labor projects, Tuesday through Thursday we have part of the day to spend with the kids! Such a blessing! the first half of the day was spent as unstructured time to hang out. We played lots and lots of volleyball, basketball, soccer, cards and chalk. Some of us have excelled at Spanish, which is helpful for many people. These kids are truly the funniest, sweetest kids I have ever met. One kid at lunch yelled "Bigote" (mustache) while smearing beans all over his face. Another told us "Me llamo es me llamo" (My name is my name) when we asked what his name was. They're great. The attitude has been a struggle in sports. The air is pretty thin but who cares? We are having a blast! After lunch we did crafts with the kids. We made tie scarfs with felt. The leaders of Living Hope said that everyone had fun and the scarfs would be very helpful. It was so great to have some one-on-one time helping kids. Over the span of the day, we've all improved a little at volleyball, grown closer together as a team and closer together to God and the kids.
Peace out from Hannah!
