North Heights Lutheran

(Wednesday)
Because of the rain Tuesday night, we had to re-do all of the work at the land that we had already done. During the rainy season it seems like nothing ever gets done! When we were done working we played yet another soccer (or rather, "football") game with the other workers.
We arrived just on time for another amazing lunch. It was agreed that the meals keep getting better and better. The kids at the orphanage like cards and sports as much as we do. We played card games, football, and basketball all afternoon!
When we got home, a few of us helped Liz make dinner as Josh was not feeling well. We had the chance to pray for him, and he is now feeling 100% better!
After dinner we went to a 7:30 church service at Nations Church (run by the EV staff). The teaching was about humility and forgiveness and was incredibly powerful. When the service was over we had an extended time of tears, laughter, singing, and lots of forgiveness. The song "Lead Me to the Cross" came to mind and was perfect for the situation.
Later, in the car, we prayed, laughed, and sang even more. We all laid hands on one another and sang worship songs all the way home. It was very moving.
Once back at the house, we played another "game with God." Two people hid, and we used the 5 steps to intercession to find them. The second round took a while, but God led us in amazing ways.
As soon as we went to go to bed, the electricity went out. The girls prayed for the better part of an hour, and the lights came back on around 1:00 a.m. Praise God!
