East Hill Church

(Written Wednesday)

Our team spent the morning at the new home mixing and pouring concrete, as well as digging out a pathway for pavers. The work was very physical and required much teamwork. We are all grateful for the stronger members of the team covering for those of us with puny arms. (Insert a chant of Esteban you the man or Adrian, you the man) It is amazing to see the site being transformed daily and to be a part of that transformation is a blessing to each of us.

The afternoon was spent with the children. It is very difficult to explain the emotions involved in being with these kids. Their faces shine with each interaction and each day we are able to form closer bonds. Honestly, they are so easy to love. The afternoon flies by in cascades of laughter and numerous hugs. Each of us would admit we came to bless them, but we are the ones being blessed by each child.

We brought out the banners today and worshipped with the children. The courtyard was filled with color, movement and a joy that was palpable. We marched, jumped, sang and became more like the children as we abandoned our inhibitions.

We stopped by home long enough to clean up and eat before we were picked up to attend Nations Church for their Wednesday evening service. The focus was on prayer, and even though we couldn’t understand much of what was said, the passion of the people was obvious.

We are experiencing a touch of illness by one of our team and we ask for your prayers for healing. Thank you for your continued support.
