God is good! Today was our last work day – moving sand, gravel, laying pavers and pouring cement. Lots of sun! Four ladies worked repairing children’s clothing, two ladies ironed and prepared for our afternoon game day. Lunch at 2:00pm with the children. The games were a large success. Lots of prizes and fun. The group was invited to dinner by Bob and Carla, a carpenter and nurse from Wisconsin that are working for six weeks at EV. We all went to a BBQ restaurant together with Rene and his family and had chicken, ribs, lamb and rabbit – it was great! We then went back to our casa to prepare for Saturday. Each and every day is busy from first light to bed time.

Jesus Rocks! We began our morning, early as usual, with a Devotional on God’s Will for our life. It was a perfect way to start our day. Rene, his son Sammy and Cedric from EV picked us up in the van and took us to a delicious breakfast in downtown Cholula, It was a buffet and we all tried one of everything.
After our breakfast, some of us hiked up to the top of The Great Pyramid of Cholula. The Pyramid has the largest base of any Pyramid in the World. At the top of the pyramid is the Nuestra Señora de Remedios church. This beautiful church, built in 1594, has a spectacular view of the city and the active volcano Popocateptl . We stood and took in the view and watched the volcano puffing its steam. Climbing down the steep stairs, we joined the rest of our group for some shopping in the center of the town.
We returned to our van and rode over to EV to have our lunch with the kids. They are always so happy to see us and of course we are always thrilled to see them. After our lunch, we boarded the big bus with the teenagers to attend their Saturday afternoon Youth Group at Nation’s Church. We worshipped with them and we all sang along to Vamos a Cantar. The kids were pleased to know that we had learned their song in Spanish and were able to sing and dance (jump and sway) with them. Our activity that we brought was called The Plant Experience. The teenagers drew and discovered the lesson of finding out about how God cares for everyone. The bus dropped us off at our house and we said “hasta mañana” to the kids. We returned home, cooked dinner and finished eating by 9 p.m. Yes, we were ALL exhausted from the full day! We are now getting ready for our final day at EV. Emotions are high as we will miss ALL of the kids! We will sleep well tonight. Buenas Noches a Todos!! (Goodnight Everyone)
