Wednesday
HOLA!
Most
of us woke up between 6:00am and 7:00am. It was a beautiful sunny day. Once we were cleaned up we met and had a
wonderful time of worship led by Stephen, Conner, Ashley and Tiffany. And once
again it was amazing. We then had a great time of devotion led by Ashley Fray,
who also did a wonderful job sharing about how God has a time and season for
everything. We moved on to breakfast from there to our work project. It was
really hard work but everyone really enjoyed it. Our team is made up of some of
the hardest workers I have ever seen. They all worked so hard. It was exciting
because we have the dirt almost all dug out and the bricks will be going in
soon to complete the next leg of the retaining wall for the Garden of Hope.
After working till about 1:00, we went and looked at some of the silver jewelry
that EV sells. The silver was a little more costly but the money all goes back
to the home to benefit the kids. We then moved on to one of our favorite pass
times; we got to hang out with the kids until lunch. After lunch we did our
crafts with the kids. Yvette has been doing an amazing job with this with the
help of the rest of the team. Brad shared with the kids about how God has a
purpose for their lives. I know the kids liked it as one of the kids I was
sitting next to wrote about purpose on her banner. The kids made crowns and banners.
It was so amazing. These kids are so artistic. It is so hard to explain to you
just how good the banners were without you seeing them, but they were real
works of art. Everyone had such a great time. Nick even got the back of his
shirt bedazzeled. It was so funny. The kids stuck all kinds of jewels, which we
were using for the crown project, all over the back of his shirt. He was such a
good sport about it. We then got everything
cleaned up and were able to have more free time with the kids until dinner, and
thereafter. Some played volleyball, some played basketball, some made
bracelets, jumped rope, and some read stories and books. It has been so amazing
to see our team connect with the kids here. Every day we hear stories of how a
child warmed up to one of the team members. Unfortunately it was soon time to
say good night to the kids and we went off to meet together and talk about our
day. We honored Gail for being such a great team leader with a standing
ovation, and had a great time of fellowship. Time goes by so fast that before
we knew it, it was time to go to our rooms where we hung out for a while and
then the lights went out. Tomorrow we will be working again and we all need our
sleep. So to wrap it all up, today was a very productive day. We all worked
hard and played hard but it was all so worth it. Well, time to go to bed now so
buenas noches y adios from the East Hill High School mission team. Until
tomorrow...
