This is most likely our last blog before coming home. Though we have not been able to write you many words, we feel the few that we have been able to write have been very powerful. We can't wait to come home and share our stories with all of you. The last few days have been filled with work projects (digging a massive trench) and more time with the kids and staff at EV. On Tuesday night we had a wonderful surprise service with the staff. It was an amazing time with God as He spoke to many on our team, both individually and through the staff members.
Looking over the past week, there are a few things we'd like to highlight:
- Malachi was challenged with the food on his first missions trip but found the love and strength of Christ to overcome.
- Julie stepped out of her comfort zone and allowed God to use her in incredible ways.
- Marissa was the great glue for our team, kept us sane and organized.
- Bri has inspired us to push through no matter what the situation is.
- Lauren=mom. She has an incredibly big heart and it is very apparent that she cares about people so much.
- Ben (The Big Friendly Giant) The muscle of the team, but Teddy Bear with the kids. (Becoming more humble one day at a time :))
- Kaila: the quirky, outgoing, full of fun, honest member of the group.
- Alexa: everybody knows her name because everybody loves her.
- Alyssa: the never-say-die member, the amazing caring "mother" to Pati (her sponsor child). It was amazing to watch her with her Pati.
- Jorden: Our fearless, comic leader who always knows how to put a smile on everyone's face. He was also never afraid to strike up a conversation, even with a Spanish-English language barrier.
See ya in a jiff
Love - The team
By the time you read this, we will be probably home or almost home. We just want to say thank you for helping and allowing us to go on this trip. It has been amazing! We are all happy, healthy and looking forward to seeing you.
It's been a jiff - Love, The team
