Hola sus familias! We have arrived safely with smooth flights & customs. Jorden slept through 2 plane rides, 1 bus ride, & 1 van ride, we had to carry him (just kidding). We got acquainted with our house. On Friday, we got the privilege (due to the rain) to spend time with the kids in their dorms. Short term mission groups don't normally get to do this, so the kids were ecstatic! After lunch we played sports with the kids. They all EXCEL at sports, it seems. In the evening, we went to an incredible youth rally/conference. even though the songs were in Spanish, we knew most of them (from the U.S.). It was cool to see young people worshiping God with all their hearts.
The big game between Brazil & Mexico for the gold was on TV when we arrived Saturday morning. The kids couldn't stop talking about Mexico's victory for the rest of the day. After lunch and a game of soccer, we had a chance to perform a rendition of The Lost Sheep, which led into the kids making a sheep as a craft. They were too cute! After games, more games and more games, we turned in for the night.
Sunday morning we got all dressed up for church. Jorden looked like a Fleet Farm employee with his orange polo and black slacks. We went to service at Nations church. It was an AWESOME service! More time with the kids during the afternoon. It was great. We also got our first glimpse of sunlight as it has been raining the rest of the time.
Well, that's all for now. We love and thank you all. Everyone's health is good!
