Had to rise
early to meet at Crossway Church at 5:00 am. Pack luggage into the bed of the
truck and the van. The group gathered with our loved ones to pray. This is a
blessed moment after all the anticipation, and the time has come.
Driving to
Chicago went well and we tested the theory “if you drive around and around
enough, you eventually get in.” Our flight was delayed from 9:30 to 10:20 am. We
boarded at 10:40, and then another delay followed by more delays.
Beth was
experiencing some high blood pressure and we asked for medical personnel to
check her. Then they tell us to board again, after a 4 hr delay. The medical
personnel stated she should not get on this flight, but should wait for
tomorrow. Jenny would stay with her.
The flight
to Mexico City, and we were met by Elizabeth. Then a two hour bus ride to
Puebla, and then to Esperanza Viva. We arrived right before midnight.

Finally
left for Mexico around 3:04 pm, after many delays of over 5 hours total.
Wonder what
God´s plan is for us. Beth had to stay behind with Jenny in Chicago.
God´s plan
to delay us for Beth´s benefit so she was able to get medical attention.
Reading “Crazy Love” again, and after, things hit me about God’s want of our
love even though he doesn´t need it. We desperately need God even though we
often don´t want it. He wants us even though we are merely a microscopic grain
of salt in the ocean.
This team
is showing patience, accepting of things that are out of our control, but is
God´s will. Let´s pray for continued guidance and wisdom as we end our travels,
and meet up with the people of Mexico.
