Just in the 4 days we have been in Puebla, God has been fully present in everything we have done. We are all safe and enjoying each moment thus far. There are countless stories, but here are just 3 ways. God has shown his presence in Puebla.
On Saturday, while we were on a bus to Nations Church for teen night, each of the team members sat with one or two teens from the youth home. AJ had a particularly revealing conversation with a boy. He asked the simple question of what his favorite verse was with the boy´s response of Psalm 27:10 which reads, “Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me”
The Lord accepts and loves us all no matter what our background.
Being Easter Sunday yesterday, we got to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus at Nations Church. The Worship music, even though was in Spanish, was just as powerful. The restraints we have in the States while praising God is completely let loose here as we let our emotions out thought dancing with our hands stretched out.
Through preparing for this trip we said we have to be flexible with whatever is thrown our way. God tested us with that last night as we got locked out of our house for a couple hours. God revealed that this minor inconvenience could be used for his glory. Our youth connected with the youth throughout our complex through a simple game of soccer on the basketball court. Along with the youth, our adults were able to connect with two families that live by our house. Even through times such as this, God has turned it around and given our team an opportunity to let him shine through us.
We are excited to see how God will reveal Himself to us the rest of this week as today we start our construction project and camps with the kids.
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men”
Colossians 3:23
